Dr Madeleine Bussemaker

In Madeleine Bussemaker's current position as a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Surrey they lead research in treatment of emerging contaminants, sustainable hair dyes, sonochemical engineering, waste/biomass processing, and ultrasonic effects in biological systems. Madeleine first became interested in ultrasonic cavitation through their PhD in ultrasonic processing of biomass at the University of Western Australia. Over the years Madeleine has broadened their research to include bacteria, black soldier flies, supply chain, ontologies and technoeconomic modelling. However, have always remained interested in the wonders of ultrasonic cavitation and what we can do with these tiny microreactors. Madeleine really enjoys working with both industry and academia for real-world applications of research, partnering with  companies such as Arcadis, Element 6, Bio-Sep, Herb UK and Inspro Ltd.
