Sonochemistry refers broadly to the application of acoustics/ultrasonics to accelerate chemical and physical processes, most often mediated by cavitation-bubble activity. A huge range of applications have been demonstrated in the scientific literature, employing a wide variety of source transducers, within many different experimental configurations. A vast parameter-space is available for exploitation, to refine and potentially upscale applications, but this also makes identification of optimal parameters extremely challenging.
At this Physical Acoustics Group Tutorial Day, novel applications, up-scaling and cavitation metrology will be discussed, as well as presentations from leading researchers from across the UK.
