Join us for a focused one-day conference exploring how machine learning (ML) is transforming research across the Physical sciences, Engineering, Health, and Earth sciences. Bringing together leading researchers and industry experts, the event will showcase advances in foundation models, scientific AI, and domain-specific applications that are accelerating research and enabling innovative solutions to complex real-world challenges.

This one-day conference will feature invited talks from leading researchers, alongside a special panel discussion bringing together the Editors-in-Chief of IOP Publishing’s ML journal portfolio. The panel will explore emerging AI research trends, opportunities and challenges across disciplines, and the future of research communication and the role of scientific publishing in the age of AI.

  • Kyle Cranmer, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (Editor in Chief, Machine Learning: Science and Technology)
  • Pierre Gentine, Columbia University, USA (Editor in Chief, Machine Learning: Earth)
  • Jay Lee, University of Maryland, USA (Editor in Chief, Machine Learning: Engineering)
  • Jimeng Sun, University of Illinois, USA (Editor in Chief, Machine Learning: Health)
The event will also feature the launch of the latest IOP special interest group – Machine Learning and Neuromorphic Computing. There will be ample opportunities for discussion, networking and collaboration, and Early Career Researchers will particularly benefit from a ‘Meet the Editor’ networking session for both journal and career advice.
