We’re inviting researchers to share their work with the Materials & Characterisation community. Do you have a presentation to practice before a conference? Looking to build your presentation skills? Keen to gain feedback from scientists who might not usually hear about your work? Please volunteer for our lunchtime seminar series.
Who is this aimed at?
Presenters are sought from ECRs which includes PhD students, post-doctoral associates and fellows, and early career academics. But of course, we encourage the broadest audience to attend, feedback and discuss the varied work across the group.
What is the format?
The hour-and-a-half lunchtime slot is for up to 4 presentations (which can match the time required by an upcoming conference, else 15 minutes with 5 minutes for questions), ending with a general discussion and networking time. If presenters would like more specific feedback the committee members on the call will be happy to arrange a follow-up.
When and where?
To gain the broadest audience we will be running these online. We’re starting off with two seminars this year, one before and one after the summer conference season. If the format proves popular, we will continue into 2024 and may add extra dates. The seminars won’t be recorded unless a presenter would like the recording for review purposes.
