Invited Speaker: Joseph Barker

Dr Joseph Barker is a theoretical and computational physicist working in the field of spintronics and magnetic materials. He currently holds a Royal Society University Research Fellowship at the University of Leeds. Joe has worked on topics including ultrafast magnetisation dynamics, spin caloritronics and spin magnetoresistance. His work aims to produce quantitative simulations and models which and be compared to experiments to give insights into the microscopic processes governing macroscopic magnetic behaviour.
