Dr Aidan Hindmarch has research interests mainly in experimental thin-film magnetism and spintronics; including applications of neutron and resonant x-ray scattering techniques in understanding materials systems for applications such as spin-orbit torques and magnetisation dynamics. He studied for a PhD at the University of Leeds (2003), where he worked with Prof. Bryan Hickey. This was followed by postdoc work in the same department with Prof. Chris Marrows and at the University of Nottingham with Prof. Bryan Gallagher, before moving to Durham University in 2011 as a Lecturer and more recently Associate Professor.
