Low temperature physics is an enormously rich and exciting field of fundamental science. It also plays an essential role underpinning the rapid commercialisation of a range of quantum technologies. The field incorporates areas such as quantum fluids (from condensates to helium-3), superconductivity, strongly correlated matter and quantum devices, as well as embracing applications in fundamental physics including dark matter sensing and black-hole analogues. The 2026 Early Career Research and Networking Meeting will be held at IoP HQ in London on the 15th May. It will focus on bringing together early career researchers (ECRs) to discuss their research, connect with industry and develop their skills.
The programme will consist of contributed presentations by PhD students, PDRAs and other ECRs, together with invited talks covering careers in industry and essential skills. Please submit your research abstract today.
All those interested in low temperature physics, from academia, industry and beyond, are welcome to attend to learn about the work of our ECRs and to participate in networking. The meeting is free to attend for IoP members, with lunch and light refreshments provided. Please register online to secure your place.
