The Homi Bhabha and Cockcroft Walton Lecture Series is a long-standing bilateral exchange between the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the Indian Physics Association (IPA), celebrating global collaboration in physics since 1998.
This year’s Homi Bhabha Lecturer is Professor Rupamanjari Ghosh, a leading expert in quantum optics and a transformative figure in higher education and science policy in India.
A renowned expert in quantum optics and a leading voice in science policy, Professor Ghosh will explore the transformative role of Quantum and Nonlinear Optics—from pioneering entangled photon sources to advancing quantum memory protocols. As we mark 100 years since the birth of quantum mechanics, the lecture reflects on light-based innovation and its impact on emerging technologies.
Alongside these breakthroughs, the talk will also confront the “dark side” of quantum vulnerabilities, addressing challenges like decoherence and the fragile security of quantum systems.
Join us for a thought-provoking journey through quantum science, innovation, and resilience.
