Dr Steve Russell is a Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Biosciences at Aston University. Holding a master’s in education and bringing extensive teaching experience, he delivers undergraduate and master’s level modules with a strong emphasis on student development. Since 1998, Dr Russell has focused on cancer cachexia research, exploring the mechanisms of cancer-induced weight loss, and associated metabolic changes, aiming to enhance therapeutic strategies in oncology. As the Sustainability Champion for Biosciences, he actively integrates sustainability into Aston University’s curriculum, aligning it with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). His work reflects a dedication to research, teaching, and global impact.
