Welcome to the joint GR24 and Amaldi16 meeting to be held in Scotland, July 2025.

In 2025, the 24th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR24) and the 16th Edoardo Amaldi Conference on Gravitational Waves (Amaldi16) will be held together as a joint meeting, bringing together experts from across classical and quantum gravity, mathematical and applied relativity, gravitational-wave instrumentation and data-analysis, multimessenger astronomy, relativistic astrophysics and cosmology.

The GR–Amaldi Meeting will be held 14-18 July 2025 at the Scottish Event Campus, Glasgow. It will be primarily an in-person event, but online resources will be freely available after the event. The Institute for Gravitational Research at the University of Glasgow and the Institute of Physics are leading the meeting organisation. To celebrate the conference, there will be a public lecture on 16 July 2025. To help support attendance, we are offering subsidised childcare near the conference venue.

Ahead of the main meeting, there will be an Early Career Workshop organised in partnership with the Gravitational-Wave Early Career Scientists. The ECR Workshop will take place 10–12 July 2025 at the University of Glasgow. It will consist of two days of invited talks, panel discussions and tutorials, and one day of networking and social activities in advance of GR–Amaldi. The ECR Workshop aims to provide attendees with scientific and soft skills, and support them in becoming the next generation of leading scientists.

Between the Early Career Workshop and the main meeting, we will hold a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on 13 July 2025 at the University of Glasgow. Co-organised with University of Glasgow student societies, we will work to improve the quality of pages related to topics of the meeting. A key goal will be making biographies representative of the breadth of the field. All are welcome to contribute, and expert advice on Wikipedia editing will be given by the award-winning Dr Jess Wade. Attendees will be welcome to join a special public talk by Dr Erin MacDonald, science consultant for Star Trek.
