John has 18 years of experience at Castrol/BP focused on mechanical lubricant testing, test method development and computer-aided-engineering (CAE). Over the last few years he has developed BP’s lubricant physical properties models, targeting accurate fluid characterization techniques and methods of combining and embedding them into commercially available CAE platforms. These tools are used to evaluate the effect of lubricants on engine components and performance. He graduated from Bath university with a master’s degree in automotive engineering and became a chartered engineer in 2009.
He has recently moved into a Data scientist role to apply his modelling techniques in the wider Castrol business.
