Professor Ling Wang

Ling is Professor of Tribo-Sensing, Head of the national Centre for Advanced Tribology at Southampton (nCATS), and Chair of the Tribology Group at IOP. She has over 20 years research experience in the field of tribology and sensing. Her research focuses on bearing tribology; novel sensing techniques for tribological contacts; and intelligent tribological systems using machine learning methods. She is the winner of the 2017 BINDT COMADIT Prize and the 2021 IMechE Donald Julius Groen Prize. She is a Fellow of British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute.
