Dr Sally Shaw is a Lecturer in Experimental Particle Physics at the University of Edinburgh. She is currently physics coordinator for the world-leading direct dark matter experiment LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ). She is also part of the XLZD consortium who are starting R&D for the next generation of liquid xenon dark matter experiments.
Sally did her PhD at UCL working on both analysis of data from the LUX experiment and simulations for LZ. She then then moved to the USA and spent 5 and a half years at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she delivered the LZ neutron veto detector and led data analysis for LZ’s first science run before returning to the UK last year.
