Dr David C Cox (DCC) is a Senior Research Fellow in the National Ion Beam Centre (NIBC), University of Surrey, He is an expert in focused ion beam (FIB) nanofabrication, particularly advanced beam patterning strategies and methods. He received his PhD from the department of Metallurgy and Materials Science, University of Cambridge, UK in 2001 and has a broad background in both industry and academia, covering many aspects of materials science, physics and electronic engineering.  Most recently this work has been applied to deterministic Ion Implantation for Quantum technologies along with the development of new ion sources for the single ion implantation instruments housed at the NIBC.
