The Condensed Matter and Quantum Materials (CMQM) series is home
to the UK condensed matter physics community. It is supported by a number
of Institute of Physics groups, and aims to provide a forum where students,
postdocs, advisors, and collaborators can reliably find each other. CMQM is
supported by a number of Institute of Physics groups, and aims to bring
together scientists with a range of interests including electronic and magnetic
phenomena in solids, new materials, characterisation techniques, and devices.
All active researchers within the relevant subject areas will have the
chance to present.
CMQM 2023 will be hosted by the University of Birmingham. Talks will take place on 29-30 June 2023, with a drinks reception on the evening of 28 June. To keep attendees together over the course of the conference, dinner at the Botanical Gardens on the evening of 29 June will be included in the registration fee. Special events for CMQM 2023 include a focus session in memory of Prof. Joe Vinen, a focus session on materials for quantum technology organised by M4QN, and, as a break from physics, a talk by Prof. Carl Chinn on the industrial revolution!
