The University of Dundee is hosting the 2022 STFC Introduction to Astronomy Summer School from August 21st, 2022, to August 26th, 2022. The School is aimed at new and recently-started PhD students and other early-career scientists in the field of astrophysics. We will cover different topics, ranging from exoplanets to star formation, observational techniques, galaxies, cosmology, gravitational waves, dark matter, and astrobiology, as well as transferable skills such as computational resources, careers advice, public engagement, and well-being.
Participants will be hosted at the Belmont Tower in the Dundee City Campus, within walking distance of the conference halls. There will be a welcome reception on the evening of Sunday 21st August, an afternoon trip for a walking tour of Dundee (Wednesday), and a museum trip and conference dinner at the RRS Discovery (www.rrsdiscovery.co.uk/) on the Thursday evening.
