We are delighted to announce that the IOP Summer Festival  'A celebration of physics: On the road to a sustainable world' will be taking place on 5 June 2024 at Silverstone, the legendary home of the British Grand Prix and MotoGP.

The event aims to bring together members of the community to celebrate the achievements of our 2023 Award Winners, and to recognise the work of our members who tirelessly volunteer their time to advance physics and proactively support IOP activities and programmes.

The day will include a programme of talks highlighting physics innovation and the work that is ongoing to meet net zero targets, demonstrations from organisations and companies working across the sector, and the award of the 2023 Medals and Prizes. There will also be an opportunity to hear from the IOP President, Sir Keith Burnett CPhys FInstP and CEO, Tom Grinyer, on our ambitious strategy to transform the physics landscape for the UK and Ireland.

The event is open to all; however pre-registration is required. The event is free to all grades of IOP members and their guests, and £50 for non-members.  We invite you to register online by 31 May 2024. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
