Dr. Prosenjit Bagchi is a professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. Prior to Joining Rutgers, he obtained a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and performed postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University. He obtained his bachelor's and Master's degrees from Jadavpur University and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in India.
Dr. Bagchi's group conducts research in the area of computational fluid dynamics and biofluid mechanics. Specifically, they are engaged in high-fidelity computational modeling of microcirculatory blood flow and microvascular dynamics with application to blood cell disorders and vascular dysfunction. The research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Health.
