Dr Amy Liu

Dr. Amy W. K. Liu received her B.Sc.(Eng.) degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Physics from Imperial College, London. Amy joined IQE in 1997 as a Senior Research Engineer, and is now the VP of US R&D Programs. She currently directs the MBE-based III-V on Si integration and Sb‑based IR photodetector development efforts at IQE.  Amy is a joint-recipient of the 2016 and 2019 US DoD Defense Manufacturing Technology Achievement Awards in recognition of Outstanding Contributions to the Success of the High Operating Temperature Multi-band Focal Plane Arrays and the III-V Dual Band Focal Plan Arrays projects. She has over 30 years of experience in the MBE growth and characterization of III-V compound semiconductors, has co-authored over 350 refereed journal and conference publications and has 9 patents on III-V/Si integration. Amy is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE).
